Join the Alberta Floor Curling Association

Becoming a member of the Alberta Floor Curling Association means more than just playing a game. It means joining a community that values friendship, fun, and healthy competition. Whether you're a new player or a long-time fan of the sport, membership opens the door to a vibrant network of clubs and tournaments across the province.

The club is provided with a Certificate of Membership for the current season.
The obligation of a member club of the Association is to host 2 AFCA sanctioned tournaments per season. -
An individual member must be a member of an AFCA club member.
Once a member has paid their fee the member will receive their membership card for the current season.
Association Tournaments: The floor curling season runs from September 1st to May 31st. The Club Contacts notify the Association as to their preferred tournament dates for the upcoming season. Theses dates are then collated into the season's AFCA Tournaments Schedule. The 'Tournament Schedule', for viewing and for printing, is posted under the 'CURRENT SEASON' page.

To participate in an AFCA Tournament, simply contact your Center’s Contact Person. They in turn contact the Host Contact Person and enter your team.
The Contact Person is specified on the tournament schedule for each tournament.
The Contact Person needs your Team's contact name and your phone number.
(Generally, a Team's name is the Skip's name.)
The Contact Person will let your team know when your 'first draw' will be for the bonspiel.

Each team player pays a $10 AFCA fee to play in an AFCA sanctioned tournament ($40 per team).
In addition, a luncheon is provided by the Host Club and there will be an extra charge to the team for the meal.
The meal cost will be dependent on the Host Club and should be communicated when booking teams.This money is collected by the Hosting Club.

$280 in prize money is provided to the hosting Club on behalf of the Association.
A use of facility donation of $500 per tournament issed by AFCA
An annual grant is provided to all clubs at the end of the season, providing the club member has held its sanctioned tournaments.
The amount of the donation will vary depending on our available Casino funds.
If your club is interested in joining AFCA, please fill out the application form and submit it to AFCA, as per specified in the application form.
